i remember the day ms. moore “shot the sheriff”, as the day i got a “get out of school FREE” card! actually it went like this: my dad showed up at school, pulled me out of class, and while i was waiting soberly in the hall for him to spit out the dire news, i was certain (from the look on his face) that he was about to tell me my mom had died! then of course, i was marched right across the street to that spooky little church on the corner of 8th & may steets, to spend the rest of the day in the only place worse than mr weber’s classroom–a prayer meeting to beg GOD to save our president and the country from satan’s handmaidens… (TRUE story).

Hey bill, just wanted to tell you i thought today’s blog was a brilliant piece of writing! (also liked the observations on anger as self-therapy–”irasi-bill” ) i think you’ve made the leap from plagerizing nat’l lampoon in 3rd grade to writing for SNL–seriously, go for it!!! best, yb

I just wanted to say “BRAVO” to you for this post. I’ve read little about Sean Hannity and purified myself of his television appearances, but after reading your breakdown of his statements – I know exactly what kind of man he is. The kind that is so scared that Black folks like Obama are getting “uppity” again. I find his statements about The Million Man March to be extremely offensive. As if participation in the event in any capacity marks you as White people hating militant. Perhaps people who believe so should do a little research. The event wasn’t the most positive event ever held, however, it was a catalyst for much change within the Black community and the country. It is my hope that people like you and I can continue to thrive and welcome others to “see the light”. America is more than Black or White. Together – and only TOGETHER – can we turn things around and fix what is broken. America has and will again stand for hope, strength, and (God willing) be the catalyst of change this entire planet needs. Thank you for setting the record straight!

She was on my short list for some time–until she had her child. I really wonder if a woman who just had a Down’s child is going to want to endure the rigors of a Vice Presidential campaign while still dealing with the none-t00-small task of managing a state the size of Alaska, not to mention raising the rest of her family.

Hmm . . . I previously attempted a comment but am not sure it went through — in any event – I NEVER said that “Hitler wants to be president” in referring to Sen. Clinton. What I did say was “Hillary wants to be President.” While I am an Obama supporter, I have always respected and admired Senator Clinton and could not let that confusion stand without responding to it.
